Grab Your bags and Sail Through the Great Attractions of Lake Livingston, Texas

Living here in the hub, no pun intended, of Lake Livingston, Texasoffer itself to a host of recreational activities and parks. I reside in the town of Onalaska which is known to be the heart of Lake Livingston located along Highway 190. There is plenty of opportunity for anything from fishing to boating, hiking, bike riding, shopping, hunting or a little sun bathing. I feel very blessed to live in such a beautiful area of Texas. We also enjoy taking a bike ride or a walk after supper to watch the sunset. If you are an animal lover your sure to see deer, bluebirds, duck, craines, redbirds, to name a few. Once while driving to church I saw a bald eagle soaring over the Lake, it was magnificent.

Recreational Activities Around Lake Livingston

Parks

One of the things that my family and I enjoy doing around the Lake is going camping. There are many R.V. resorts in Onalaska.

Sandy Creek Resort and Campground is a quaint yet reasonable priced R.V. camping spot along the lake. Sandy creek is located approximately 15 miles west of highway 59 on Highway 190. There is room to park your boat, a small store with gas, laundry, showers, 30 and 50 amp, full sewer hookups, free boat ramps and fishing pier to those staying at the park. My family stayed here a whole summer while we were looking for a house to buy.

Northshore RV Resort on Lake Livingston is a clean place to park your R.V. and is located on one of the wide open spaces of the lake. off of 190 in Onalaska. The park boasts of a pool, showers, kiddie water park, beach area for swimming, plenty of land to fish on, cabins, pull through campsites, 30 and 50 amp, full sewer hookup. You can also purchase a pass for the pool, water park, and beach for day use.

RV Park at the Waterfront Lodge and Marina has R.V. camping with a restaurant, boat ramp, land to fish on and a lodge for those who do not have an R.V. My parents have stayed here when our house was being remodeled.

Lakeside RV Resort and Marina is a newly built R.V. campground with swimming pool, boat launch, fishing pier, hip restaurant, overlooking some of the most open parts of the Lake.

Boating

Quality Marine Services Inc has a newly renovated show room, where you can choose your favorite water toy.  Boating galore, and it is located conveniently near the water.  It is not just a boat store but also has A.T.V.S.

CH Marine - Lake Livingston Boat Sales has all your boating wishes and needs. Located off 190 in nearby Livingston. From party boats, jet skis, fishing boats, and speed boats.

Free Boat Ramps

There is a free boat boat ramp located off Highway 190. Before the bridge across Lake Livingston was built a ferry ran where the boat ramp is located. This is also a good place to fish if you do not have a boat. You can sit up under the bridge for shade or if it starts raining. There is another free boat ramp in Onalaska that is on old 356.
